Affordable Beauty Hacks From Your Kitchen

I’ve been loving the obsession over natural and clean beauty. The reason why is because I can find most ingredients in my kitchen and I don’t have to spend extra money to buy masks.

It gives me comfort knowing that everything I’m putting on my face came from natural ways and wasn’t made up in a laboratory.

I get it, it’s intimidating to put the things that you should be eating on your face but you know what I’m gonna make it easier for you.

There’s nothing to be scared of, these food contain natural vitamins and minerals that can provide various benefits for your skin.

Here are a few DIY beauty hacks that you can solve some of your skincare issues.

 

Gentle Lip Scrub – Coconut Sugar and Jojoba Oil

Coconut sugar and jojoba oil can make a really good lip exfoliator, it’s a great treatment for the lips especially for the winter.

You can mix 1 tbsp of Coconut sugar and ½ tbsp of Jojoba Oil. Just stir it and then you can use it as a scrub. You can store the leftovers in a jar and then re-use it.

Also, coconut sugar is such an amazing substitute for sweeteners like agave, sugar and even stevia.

 

Whitening Toothpaste – Baking soda and Coconut Oil

You probably know that baking soda can whiten your teeth, but adding coconut oil can make it a perfect duo.

Coconut oil has antibacterial and antimicrobial qualities, but also anti-fungal. Studies have shown that coconut oil can destroy the bacteria which can cause tooth decay.

 

And baking soda is a very mild abrasive which helps cleaning and whitening teeth, and restoring pH balance.

In a small jar, combine 2 tbsp of Coconut Oil and 2 tbsp of Baking Soda.

 

Avocado Face Mask For Oily Skin

Avocado contains vitamin E, potassium, lecithin, and many other nutrients that can nourish and moisturize the skin.

You can mix half an avocado, one egg white and one teaspoon of lemon water. Then apply it to your face.

The egg whites can strengthen your skin and lemon can help shrink the size of the pores.

 

Sugar Body Scrub

Mix sugar into a hydrating base of coconut or olive oil and emulsify in a blender. Then use it on your body.

You can also add other beneficial ingrediants such as coffee, cucumber, and lavender to add extra nutrients.

You can use it to soften your skin and give it a beautiful glow.

 

Yogurt and Oats Mask

All you need is plain, natural yogurt and dried oats. Combine equal parts yogurt and oats and mix well. Apply a thick coat to your freshly washed face and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Yogurt contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, that dissolves dead skin cells. This can create gentle exfoliation not only help to create a glow but also prevent breakouts.

 

Oats are not only good for breakfast but also can soak up the excess oil on your skin and help treat acne. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that can treat dry skin and remove dead skin cells. Oats also have a compound called saponins, that can be used to cleanse your skin. They remove dirt and oil that clog the pores and exfoliate the skin.
